The Museum includes over 15,000 square feet of highly interactive technology and artifact-driven exhibits, a theatre, special event space and classrooms.
San Francisco-based Gallagher &Associates, an international museum design firm, led the creation of our 23,000 sq. foot site in Downtown St. Louis in the MX District. The Museum benefitted greatly from their past experience (including projects for NASA, the Smithsonian, and many others), augmented by creative adviser, Robert Santelli, Executive Director of the Grammy Museum.
In addition to offering visitors a venue through which to explore the various regional styles of the Blues and learn about the musicians who created this music, the Museum regularly hosts a variety of public programs, including music performances, lectures, and films. The Museum’s educational programming, a major component of our mission, focuses on providing on-site curriculum-based music education as well as outreach to schools.
